Brian Gephart

Guest Dancer

Originally from Kernersville, NC, Brian received his formal ballet training at NC School of the Arts (now University of NCSA), studying under Kee Juan Han, Warren Conover, Nina Danilova, and the late Melissa Hayden. After graduating from NCSA's high school program, he spent a year at Houston Ballet II with Claudio Munoz. Brian has since danced professionally with Joffrey Ballet of Chicago under Ashley Wheater (performing works by Balanchine, Taylor, Robbins, Arpino, Lubovitch, and Wheeldon), Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada (performing works by director Igor Dobrovolskiiy) before starting his freelance career based out of New York City. 

 

Since moving to NYC, Brian has found a homebase dancing regularly with the Metropolitan Opera in addition to freelancing with various dance companies across the country (Mordance, Tom Gold Dance, Barak Ballet, MenLowe Ballet, Ballet22). He has also had many opportunities in theater, performing both in regional productions (CATS "Mistoffelees", A Chorus Line "Larry") and the 1st National Tour of Christopher Wheeldon's Tony Award winning An American in Paris (Ensemble). Brian is currently studying at Columbia University’s School of General Studies, majoring in Psychology. Brian can be seen dancing the soloist role in Alexei Ratmantsky's Aida at the Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center through January 6, 2023.
