Christine was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and began taking ballet lessons at age 5. Growing up in Northern Virginia, shetrained at the Washington School of Ballet in DC, and graduated from their pre-professional program, where sheperformed with the Washington Ballet Company, affording her the opportunity to take master classes with companies fromaround the world at the Kennedy Center. She attended summer dance programs at the Joffrey Ballet School, and theWashington Ballet.
Christine later attended Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, Texas, where she graduated with a BFA in Danceperformance. At SMU, she had the fortune to perform in works by Balanchine, Alvin Ailey, Jimmy Gamonet, and BruceWood. She was trained in Graham technique, Pilates, as well as Kinesiology, Musicology, and Dance History. Aftergraduation, she was invited to dance with Ballet Memphis. She went on to perform with the Bruce Wood Dance Company,Ballet Arlington, the Peridance Ensemble, Lar Lubovitch Dance (40th anniversary tour), Thang Dao Dance Co., andeventually was offered a full-time contract with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet. There, she performed in over 500 shows,dancing principal roles with choreography by Alexei Ratmansky, Carolyn Choa, Graciela Daniele, Danny Pelzig, andChristopher Wheeldon, among others. She danced in the company for over 10 years, until it was disbanded.
Christine has also taught all over New York, and in Northern Virginia. She has taught private lessons, adult classes, andwas on faculty at the Joffrey Ballet Summer Program. She has been trained by Renee Laverdiere at Repertoire DanceShop in Scarsdale, NY, as a pointe shoe fitter. In her spare time she loves reading, watching movies, and spending timewith her husband and their three children.
